Digital Audio Broadcasting, or DAB, is revolutionising radio and opening up new opportunities for the future for this oldest of electronic media. Digital terrestrial radio broadcasting makes it possible to offer multiplexes of radio stations at the very best digital quality. In the long term, digital radio will replace FM. To receive digital radio, you need a special DAB receiver. These are now available in almost all consumer electronics outlets and in specialist stores.
